New appointments and reappointments to Board of Montrose Port

Montrose Port Authority (MPA) has made two new appointments and two reappointments to its Board.

The two new appointments are Fiona Scrimgeour and Graeme Nimmo. Fiona Scrimgeour is a qualified master mariner who is currently employed by BP Exploration as a marine operations advisor.

Graeme Nimmo is a fully qualified chartered shipbroker with over 34 years’ experience in the shipping industry. Currently employed by ASCO Group subsidiary, Seletar Shipping Ltd, in the capacity as Ship’s Agency Manager, he has responsibility for Seletar’s office network providing port coverage in UKEC central and southern regions.

Reappointed to the Board is Jim Cargill, who is chief executive of PlanSea, a marine optimisation software spin-out from The Robert Gordon University where he is also an external lecturer in offshore logistics. He began his oil and gas career with Sea Oil Services in Montrose and since then has served in various senior logistics roles in the UK and overseas.

Also reappointed is Hamish Watt who set up his own successful legal private practice in Montrose in 1979. His company, Watts Law, merged a couple of years ago with Thorntons Law to create one of Scotland’s leading legal practices.

Nik Scott-Gray, chief executive of MPA, said: “These appointments and reappointments will help ensure we have a Board that brings a wide range of knowledge and experience which will help in the management and development plans for the port.”
