First port of call for Maersk Master

We are delighted that Montrose has been one of the first ports of call for the recently completed Anchor Handler, Maersk Master. The 95m long vessel was delivered by Kleven Verft yard in Norway at the end of March. Coming in at just under 11,000 gross tonnes, this fine looking vessel has a draft of 7.5m.

New Harbour Master for Montrose Port Authority


Captain Tom Hutchison has been appointed as the new Harbour Master for Montrose Port Authority (MPA).
Capt. Hutchison (48) brings a wealth of experience to the role and has detailed knowledge of the operational workings of Montrose Port having been Pilot and Assistant Harbour Master for MPA from 2000 to 2012.  Prior to then, he had 18 years sea-going experience that included nine years as Master on cargo and container vessels working around the UK and Europe.
