Montrose Port Authority Grows Team Amidst Record Growth and Ambitious Plans

Montrose Port Authority (MPA) has strengthened its team with four new appointments across its marine and commercial operations. Joining the port at this exciting time are Catriona Innes, Erin Inglis, Ben Ritchie and Morgan Douglas.
Growing our team reinforces our commitment to driving commercial growth and deepening our impact within the local community, and underpins MPA’s strategic focus on positioning Montrose as a key hub for the Scottish maritime industry.
The Growing MPA Team

Montrose native Catriona Innes is welcomed by the port as Business and Marketing Manager following a successful three years at Angus-based agency Due North Creatives, where she led on marketing, communications and PR strategy for clients across Scotland. Having worked closely with MPA in this role, Catriona has already made an impression on the port. Her work has included leading the marketing and communications activities on the introduction of shore power to Montrose, supporting the growth of the offshore wind market and spearheading the port’s awards successes.

Catriona will be joining recent arrival Erin Inglis, who was appointed as Marine Coordinator coordinator in October 2024. With a Bsc (Hons) in Psychology from Abertay University, Erin has demonstrated academic excellence and has experience across administration and hospitality, bringing a diverse skillset and fresh perspective to the team.
Also enhancing the MPA team recently was Ben Ritchie, who takes on the role of Port Operations and Commercial Coordinator. With a wealth of experience and knowledge of the marine industry, he joins from Seletar Shipping (ASCO), where he was a Ships Agent. Ben will focus on ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the port, supporting both the port and its clients.
Rounding out the port’s new team members is Morgan Douglas, who joins as Finance Assistant. This role signals an exciting new challenge for Morgan, who recently completed her Levels 2 and 3 in ICB Bookkeeping. She will play an instrumental role in supporting the finance team at the port, driving efficiency and effectiveness in all financial operations.

Looking to the Future
These four appointments come after a period of incredible growth for MPA, which has achieved record revenue over the last two years, currently providing £36.4m net GVA and supporting 450 local jobs. The port has also recently expanded its footprint with the purchase of Montrose Port Industrial Park, which has nearly doubled our acreage, and is actively investing in infrastructure, including the renovation of Customs House.
A focus on fresh perspectives signals MPA’s objectives as it looks forward to another successful year in 2025. Our new team members are already making an impact, contributing to several ambitious projects in motion, including the installation of shore power at Berth 3, the ongoing £4.5m regeneration of Montrose Customs House, the evolution of Montrose Port Industrial Park, and our continued support of award-winning local charity Montrose Community Trust.
