Island Sky Cruise Ship at Montrose Port

Welcome to Your Expedition

As expedition cruising becomes increasingly popular, with more emphasis placed on onshore activities and excursions, cruise companies are finding that berthing at lesser known destinations with more economical port charges can help them offer a more tailored experience for discerning travellers.
As well as impressive cost savings, smaller ports like Montrose are well suited to offering a more flexible, friendly and individual service which is integral to this type of cruise.

Shore power

We currently have shore power available at Berths 1 and 2 at our Port. A vital facility to the cruise industry.
The project is called Plug Montrose and is a 50/50 joint venture set up between Montrose Port Authority and Plug Shore Power Ltd where an electricity supply is given to vessels at berth, allowing them to switch off their engines and reduce emissions. The facility went live in Spring 2024.
