Last year, we were honoured to collect a number of awards, including the Business of the Year and Transition to Net Zero awards at The Courier Business Awards –  a proud milestone for our whole team.

This year we’re paying it forward by sponsoring the Brand Marketing and Social Media Category at October’s prestigious ceremony, shining a light on the businesses driving growth through standout creativity, powerful messaging, and meaningful connection with their communities. 

The awards are one of the biggest nights in the North East business community, championing the incredible businesses that are the heart and soul of “Courier Country” – the area spanning Dundee, Angus, Perthshire, Fife and Stirling.

More than 600 guests will gather at the Apex Hotel Dundee on 24th October for this year’s ceremony, which will feature 15 award categories that celebrate local businesses large and small, as well as the inspiring leaders and young talent that drive their success.

The shortlisted businesses in the Brand Marketing and Social Media category are: 

• AJ Renewables: Recognisable by their lively short form social media videos, this Fife-based solar panel installation company prides itself on helping homeowners lower their electricity bills.
• M.ad Agency: This marketing and events agency has successfully expanded its cocktail week promotions from their origins in Dundee to reach audiences across the UK.
• Mills Observatory: In 2024, the marketing team at this historic observatory brought it back into the public consciousness, saving it from a proposed closure as part of council budget cuts.  
• SaltDog Marine: Taking travellers on “seafari” trips from its base in Broughty Ferry, this boat trip provider has played a pivotal role in championing Broughty Ferry Castle in the face of its closure.

Chamber Champions

We also recently sponsored the Net Zero Award at the Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce (DACC) Champion Awards. These awards celebrate the innovation and successes of members of our local chamber of commerce, and our CEO Tom Hutchison attended the wonderful event on 8th September at the historic Carnoustie Golf Hotel.

After winning the award last year, we were keen to continue to champion sustainable business practices by sponsoring the award for 2025. All of the shortlisted businesses were worthy winners, demonstrating real commitment to meeting Net Zero targets.

The winner of the award was DP&L Travel Management, a travel booking service that helps corporate business travellers get to their destination without fuss, and with a keen eye on sustainability. We’d like to once again congratulate them on this brilliant achievement and wish them all the best in their continued Net Zero efforts.
