Montrose Port Authority Upcoming Public Consultations

Montrose Port Authority invites all members of our community to attend public consultation events relating to two key initiatives shaping the future of Montrose Port and its surrounding area.

What are the two initiatives?

1. Proposed Major Development at Montrose Port Industrial Park (MPIP)

In accordance with the requirements of the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2013 (as amended, 2021), Montrose Port Authority is undertaking a Pre-Application Consultation (PAC) for a proposed major development at:
Montrose Port Industrial Park, Forties Road, Montrose, DD10 9ET (formerly known as the old offshore fire training school).

The proposal consists of industrial and business units to support future port-related growth and contribute to wider regional economic development.

Please note that any comments made are not formal representations to Angus Council. Formal representation may be made to Angus Council once an application is submitted.

2. Montrose Port Authority Draft Masterplan Consultation

Montrose Port Authority is undertaking a public consultation on the draft masterplan for its quayside estate on both North and South Quays. The masterplan sets out a vision for the future development of Montrose Port, focused on expanding operational capacity, attracting a broader range of users and capturing opportunities in the offshore wind sector. This will help establish the region as a key hub in Scotland’s renewables economy, creating long-term jobs and supporting sustainable economic growth.

You can find out more about our draft masterplan at our dedicated webpage.

Please note that the Montrose Port Draft Masterplan Consultation is not for a formal planning application. Any comments made at this stage will be considered by Montrose Port Authority and will help shape the final version of the masterplan.

When are the Public Consultation Events?

Both projects will be presented together at the following drop-in public events:

Location: The George Hotel Function Suite, 22 George Street, Montrose, DD10 8EW

Dates & Times:
Wednesday 29th October 2025: 5.30pm – 8.00pm
and
Thursday 30th October 2025: 10.00am – 8.00pm

Feedback Session for MPIP Consultation

A feedback session on any comments from the public or amendments made from the initial public consultation on the Montrose Port Industrial Park proposal will be held at:

Location: The Montrose Playhouse Activity Rooms, The Mall, Montrose, DD10 8NN

Dates & Times: Thursday 20th November 2025, commencing at 3pm and continuing through the Montrose Community Council Public Meeting at 6.30pm.

How can I give feedback?

We look forward to seeing you and sharing more about our plans at the public consultation.
